Sydney, Australia – 10th December 2025
Zenobē, a global leader in fleet electrification and battery storage solutions, today opened Australia’s first off-site electric truck charging hub, located in Mascot, Sydney. The hub is a landmark project in Australia’s transition to zero-emission transport.
The Zenobē Mascot Hub features 22 DC fast chargers and parking for up to 44 light commercial trucks, powered by 100% renewable energy. It is the first of its kind off-site charging facility in the country, providing essential infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles for commercial fleets.
Gareth Ridge, Zenobē Country Director for Australia and New Zealand, said: “This project marks a turning point for Australia’s commercial transport sector. The Mascot hub is not only the first of its kind in the country, but also a model for how fleets can access clean, shared charging infrastructure without needing to invest in their own sites. We’re proud to be leading this change alongside our partners and helping to make sustainable transport a reality for Australia.”
Woolworths is the hub’s main tenant, leasing around half of the spaces from day one for their fleet of delivery trucks. The remaining capacity will be available to other commercial fleets and businesses operating in and around Sydney that require access to reliable charging infrastructure.
Woolworths Director, Strategic Initiatives, eComX, Chris Peters, said: “With our home delivery service more popular than ever with our customers, working with Zenobē allows us to scale our investment in an EV truck fleet quickly. Charging infrastructure like this new facility is critical to our EV operations and helping to make our suburban streets just a little quieter and cleaner.
As part of the project, Zenobē will also lease 60 light commercial electric trucks to Woolworths under its innovative Electric Vehicle as a Service (EVaaS) model. This full-service solution includes vehicle financing, battery management, vehicle maintenance, and second-life battery repurposing — enabling fleets to transition to zero-emission vehicles with reduced upfront costs and operational risk.
The Mascot charging hub is being developed and operated by Zenobē, with project support from several key partners:
This collaborative effort represents a major milestone in scaling electric transport infrastructure in Australia.
Zenobē’s off-site hub model provides a scalable solution for urban fleet operators who lack depot space, grid capacity or capital for on-site charging. The Mascot hub is the first such facility developed by Zenobē anywhere in the world, reinforcing the company’s global leadership in sustainable transport and infrastructure innovation.
