London, UK – 3rd November 2026

Zenobē, the fleet electrification and battery storage specialist has today announced a turnkey deal with bus operator Transport UK to finance 169 electric buses as well as design and build of the charging infrastructure to support their operation across four of their depots in the capital.

The announcement expands Zenobē’s strategic partnership with Transport UK to deliver on its ambition to fully electrify its London fleet by 2030.

This latest programme with one of the UK’s leading transportation providers includes one of the largest EV bus fleet transactions with 169 vehicles financed by the electric fleet specialist. This financing removes the upfront cost barriers for Transport UK and enables them to deploy a significant number of vehicles over a shorter period.

In addition to financing, Zenobē will also design and build the fleet charging infrastructure at Transport UK depots in Twickenham, Battersea, Beddington and deliver the expansion of the existing infrastructure on its Walworth site.

The delivery programme includes all aspects of infrastructure required to operate an electric fleet today including bespoke design and build of the infrastructure and integration of EV fleet management software to manage and minimise energy costs.

In Battersea, the depot is undergoing a complete redevelopment, including the construction of a new freestanding gantry system that will free up parking space and allow electric buses to move more freely in the depot, while housing the charging infrastructure safely at height and clear of vehicle movements.

The sites will also benefit from energy procurement support from Zenobē who will purchase electricity on behalf of Transport UK and provide energy market reports and guidance for the operator to keep on top of energy pricing within a fluctuating market.

All depots are expected to be complete by Q1 2027, ahead of the arrival of the first tranche of vehicles.

Bradley Fox, Director of EV Fleet – UK & Nordics at Zenobē said “We’re pleased to extend our partnership with Transport UK on a delivery and financing programme that will put 169 fully electric buses onto routes across London. Our collaboration spans the full lifecycle of the programme, from design and build through to managing their power procurement strategy, ensuring the charging and operation of the vehicles is as efficient and low cost as possible.”

Paul Hennigan, Fleet and Facilities Director – Transport UK London Bus, said: “Zero-emission electric buses contribute to improved air quality and over the past 12 months, our partnership with Zenobē has enabled us to introduce a record number of these vehicles. We are pleased to extend our relationship with Zenobē, which continues to benefit both the communities we serve and our employees.

Subject to vehicle deliveries and completion of the required infrastructure, more than half of Transport UK’s bus fleet will be electric during 2027, representing significant progress towards decarbonising all six of our operating bases.”
