2 GENERAL ARRANGEMENTS

To fulfill the mandates outlined in the Statement of Intent, Zenobē has established procedures and protocols to identify and mitigate potential adverse environmental impacts. Under the oversight of a dedicated team of health and safety as well as environmental professionals, known as the SHEQ Team, we ensure the effectiveness of our environmental framework. This team is tasked with providing assurance regarding the efficacy of our management system, guaranteeing that all aspects of environmental sustainability are comprehensively addressed.

2.1 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND COMPLIANCE

Zenobē operates and maintains an Environmental Management System that prioritises continual improvement in alignment with ISO 14001:2015 standards. We establish clear, measurable environmental goals and targets, ensuring we have the necessary information, data, and resources to monitor and achieve them. This involves analysing activities, processes, and operations to determine their potential effects on the environment. We evaluate factors such as energy consumption, emissions, waste generation, and resource usage. By understanding these aspects, we aim to assess their significance and potential consequences on the environment. This identification process allows us to prioritise areas for improvement and develop strategies to mitigate any adverse impacts, thereby contributing to our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Additionally, we adhere to all relevant legal requirements, accreditations, and agreements.

2.2 MATERIALITY

We identify our most material environmental impacts to ensure we set relevant and ambitious environmental goals and targets. To identify these material impacts Zenobē engage with key internal and external stakeholders. We identify material impacts, set targets to continuously improve performance and measure and report progress.

2.3 SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT

We are committed to integrating sustainability principles into our procurement practices. We prioritise suppliers who share our environmental values and demonstrate a commitment to responsible practices. Our procurement decisions consider factors such as environmental impact, social responsibility, and ethical sourcing. We strive to minimise the environmental footprint (Scope 3) of our supply chain by focusing on priority areas based on spend and risk.

2.4 ENERGY EFFICIENCY

We strive to procure green electricity from renewable sources to support sustainable energy practices. Additionally, we consistently enhance our energy efficiency by utilising both absolute and relative metrics to evaluate our performance. Ensuring the availability of data, we continuously monitor, measure, and report on our energy consumption to facilitate informed decision-making and ongoing improvement efforts.

2.5 GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION AND ABATEMENT

We measure carbon emissions and take decisive action to minimise the carbon footprint of our business operations, aligning with our stated objectives and targets. As proud signatories to the Science Based Targets initiative, Zenobē has pledged to achieve net-zero value chain emissions by 2050 at the latest.

Our commitment to carbon abatement includes investing and implementing strategies to support customers transitioning to net zero by making clean power accessible through the innovative use of battery storage system. These efforts are integral to our mission of making clean power accessible – decarbonising transport and energy at scale.

2.6 WASTE AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY

We prioritise minimising the environmental impact of waste by promoting and facilitating the application of the waste hierarchy, which emphasizes reducing, reusing, recycling, recovering, and disposing of waste responsibly. Our commitment extends to diverting waste away from landfills whenever possible, ensuring it is managed in accordance with local regulations. To gain insights into our waste management practices, we will monitor and measure landfill-bound waste while setting annual reduction targets. Furthermore, we strive to optimise resource utilisation throughout the product lifecycle, from extraction and production to distribution, consumption, and end-of-life management. We repurpose the EV batteries (2nd life) at the end of their lifecycle to reduce the environmental impact of the battery supply chain.

2.7 BIODIVERSITY

Zenobē worksites may be in sensitive environments, and we are committed to managing our business operations in a manner that prioritises pollution prevention, environmental protection, efficient use of natural resources, and the enhancement of local biodiversity.
