Alicante, Spain – 1 June 2026

Alicante is establishing itself as a key hub in the transition toward more sustainable mobility with the signing of a strategic agreement between Zenobē and Vectalia. This alliance represents a decisive step toward accelerating the deployment of zero-emission bus fleets in Spain and reinforcing both companies’ joint commitment to more sustainable, efficient and innovative mobility.

The agreement provides for operating leases of up to €120 million over the next three years, earmarked for fleet renewal with electric buses and the electrification of infrastructure, including depots. To date, this agreement represents the largest transaction of its kind structured by Zenobē in Spain and Europe.

This collaboration will enable Vectalia to make significant progress toward its decarbonisation goals by facilitating access to comprehensive solutions that combine vehicle leasing, charging infrastructure and specialised technical support.

A framework agreement for battery management was also signed, under which Zenobē assumes risks related to the batteries and provides services to monitor their health and degradation, thereby significantly reducing the risks borne by Vectalia.

In addition to technological renewal, the agreement will allow Vectalia to continue promoting a mobility model aligned with new environmental requirements and the needs of cities and citizens, improving operational efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of public transportation.

Martín Navarro, Zenobē’s Director for Iberia, notes that “the combination of this long-term structure and specialised technical support enables Vectalia to move more quickly toward the electrification of its fleet and the achievement of its sustainability goals, offering its users cleaner, more efficient and emission-free transportation.”

Antonio Agudo, CFO of Vectalia, added that “this agreement reinforces Vectalia’s commitment to sustainable mobility and to our users. Thanks to this framework leasing agreement, we will be able to accelerate the electrification of our fleets and depots, directly contributing to the reduction of emissions and moving toward more efficient, innovative and environmentally friendly public transportation.”

The framework agreement for operating leases is part of Zenobē’s value proposition as a strategic and operational partner specialising in the decarbonisation of heavy-duty transportation, offering solutions that include:

  • Leasing of electric buses and trucks.
  • Electrification of depots (Charging as a Service – CSA)
  • Energy management and load optimisation
  • Infrastructure operation and maintenance

With this agreement, Zenobē strengthens its position in the Spanish market, where it continues to develop large-scale electrification projects in collaboration with leading operators in the sector. Likewise, Vectalia continues to consolidate its innovation and sustainability strategy, moving toward a mobility model that is increasingly clean, efficient and prepared for the challenges of the future.
