Our Australia team has been established for around 18 months and currently consists of a fast growing and high performing team who have been responsible for winning successful projects across the Australia/ New Zealand regions.


We are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial & Contracts Manager to support growth within both electric vehicle fleet and battery storage projects. The candidate should have working experience within an engineering capacity with exposure to the wider energy market and Ideally have experience within Projects, Business Development & Contracts. The candidate will manage the day to day aspects projects and also lead on technical and commercial proposals. The role integrates with team members in finance, legal, engineering and construction to put together complex, high-value contracts and includes liaising with clients and external stakeholders. It will be a requirement to hit the ground running and to be comfortable operating at a rapid pace at times with high levels of ambiguity and the pressure of deadlines.   • Experience of managing complex contracts including compliance monitoring, preparation of budgets and financial analytics.
  • Experience of consolidating analysis of contracts and projects and providing narrative reports
  • Proven track record in managing projects of existing and new projects and acting as a focal point of contact for the end client
  • Develop compelling business proposals and supporting the customer relationship to contract close
  • Contributing to build a strong pipeline of new business across the electric vehicle fleet/ battery storage market and supporting the closure of deals
  • Contributing to the strategy process – including identifying opportunities to take Zenobē experience to other target markets
  • Responsible for ensuring that the site you are responsible for are operating in line with latest Health and Safety regulations
  • Manages projects from inception to completion ensuring they are delivered on-time, within scope and budget and to the agreed design.
  • Review all project documents and information provided by a client/sub-contractor throughout the design process
  • Prepare a detailed project budget, which needs to be closely monitored throughout the life of the project
  • Ensure appropriate availability and allocation of resources as well as prepare weekly, and monthly progress reports both internally and for clients.
  • Capture and report on any budget variations internally
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to get quotes, challenge them and identify risks to be managed as well as cost savings opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to improve best practices within the organisation.

Essential competencies:

  • High quality education (bachelor’s degree or masters) – in an Engineering capacity
  • A genuine passion in clean energy and our social and environmental mission
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a Project Management and contracts/ commercial capacity with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Good commercial acumen and ability to act as the ‘face of Zenobē’
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting financial models, project updates and sales pitches
  • Strong organisation skills, team player and good attention to detail
  • Ability to work in the Sydney office and travel when necessary
  • Desire to work in a fast moving, high pressure and entrepreneurial environment

Desirable but non-essential skills:

  • Experience in energy storage, renewables, and/or EV infrastructure
  • Knowledge of the Australia and New Zealand energy and fleet transport landscapes
